Dear Sr. Mary Ignatius Nesbit, O.P., what a helpful essay. Thank you for writing and sharing it. Reading this essay was a bittersweet walk down memory lane for me. My mother died in 2014, and my father in 2006. I miss them and wish I could call them again. Our family life was imperfect, and in the end, as each of my parents died, I was there serving them where I could. When I look back on this time with them, I am sad. And I would not change any of it. The graces I received were too many to count. Thank you a thousand times over!
Thank you. So wise. Peace will look different than we thought it would.
As for justice I only learned about the dichotomy of retributive vs restorative justice when my son attended Seton Hill University and he was studying for a class.
Beautiful wisdom and insights. Thank you for this teaching. I’m trying to find a way to save it to reread many more times and a way to send it to my son. Bless you and your work.
Not only is this a great article but the definitions of piety and forgiveness are extremely helpful!

Excellent advice, so well founded in the Thomistic way.
They should call us. We got more going on
Unfortunately, my parents do not want me to call them. Lol
In prayer for many of us. Good reminder nonetheless.
